How Move-In Shield works
Clear, dated, verifiable records of a property's condition, without storing your photos.
- CapturePhotos are taken live in the app, stamped with the date and time. No gallery uploads.
- RegisterEach photo and the final PDF get a digital fingerprint, saved with our server's time.
- VerifyAnyone can scan the QR code or upload the PDF at /verify. Any edit makes the check fail.
- AgreeThe other party records online that they agree or disagree, with a comment.
Try it yourself
Download our sample report for a fictional property, then upload it at the verify page. You'll see it confirmed as genuine. Change anything in it and try again: it will fail.
Plans
Tenant £6.99: 1 home. Landlord £19.99: 5 different properties. Letting agent £49.99: 30 different properties with your logo. Every property includes both its check-in and check-out report. One-off payment, no subscription. Everyone can try the whole app free; you only pay to create the PDF.
Questions
What does a Move-In Shield report prove?
That the photos and the PDF existed, unchanged, at the date and time we registered them, using our server clock, not the phone's. It does not prove who caused any damage, and Sorted Templates does not inspect properties.
Can a report be faked or edited?
Photos must be taken live in the app; there is no gallery upload. Every photo and the final PDF get a SHA-256 fingerprint. If anyone edits even one letter or pixel, the verify check fails. We describe reports as tamper-evident, not tamper-proof: no app can stop someone photographing the wrong property.
Where are the photos stored?
Only on the phone that took them. We never receive photos, addresses or notes. We store only the fingerprints, the time, and (if the other party responds) their agreement. Each report has a backup .zip that you should keep safe.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Your photos are lost unless you saved the backup .zip or the PDF. The PDF itself stays verifiable forever, because its fingerprint is registered with us.
How does the other party agree or disagree?
They upload the PDF at sortedtemplates.co.uk/verify and choose “I agree” or “I disagree” with a comment. It can be given once, and anyone who verifies the PDF later sees it.
Does it replace deposit protection?
No. Deposits must still be protected in a government-approved scheme. Move-In Shield gives you evidence for that scheme's free dispute service.
